There’s been rain but no snow yet
The air is cold on my undercut
Smoke one right down to the butt
Then bin the last of my cigarettes
Doctor saw me at 9 am
There’s no cutting in the waiting line
Cut out once when I showed up fine
It’s nice being back at home again
Brass band playing by M&S
Crowding canny shoppers and their cobble-clap feet
Giving ain’t gracious when the present ain’t cheap
But leaves you feeling like you’re blessed
Coffee’s ‘bout a quid in my favourite caff
Put the penny in the tin for my dead friend
Times are hard but I’m sure they’ll end
With turkey trimming or cutting chaff
Maranatha, just you wait and see
Mary mild and Herod cruel
It’s not pretty, but it’s beautiful
This is all advent for me
